ABOUT

Quietly making complex lives
run smoothly.

I'm Kit Young, founder of Hay Consulting. For twenty years I've worked behind the scenes of private estates, family offices, and ambitious businesses, bringing the kind of operational calm and strategic clarity that's genuinely difficult to find.

BACKGROUND

Experience built in the real world.

My career has been built in environments where the goal posts are constantly shifting. I've held senior operational responsibility across private estates, household establishment, people management, financial oversight, and executive support, often several of those at once.

That breadth is what makes the difference for clients. I'm not coming to your situation with a narrow specialism and a standard methodology. I come with the kind of rounded, real-world experience that allows me to see the whole picture and act on it.

I established Hay Consulting in 2025 to offer that expertise independently, working with a select number of clients where I can make a genuine contribution.

HOW I WORK

Considered, not corporate.

Clients come to me when they need someone they can trust completely, not just with tasks, but with sensitive information, high-stakes situations, and the kind of complexity that doesn't respond well to off-the-shelf solutions.

I work closely with each client to understand what's actually needed, not just what's been asked for. I stay involved until things are properly resolved, and I'm straightforward about what I think, even when that's not the easiest conversation to have.

When specialist input is needed, I draw on a trusted network across legal, finance, HR, ecology, and design, so clients get joined-up support without having to manage multiple relationships themselves.

Clients share sensitive information with me as a matter of course. That trust is never taken lightly.

Discretion

Complex situations rarely go entirely to plan. I'm known for clear thinking and steadiness when it's needed most.

Calm

I take genuine responsibility for what's in my remit. Clients don't need to chase, check in, or manage me closely.

Ownership

I tell clients what I actually think, and I'm direct about what is and isn't working. That's usually what they need most.

Honesty

WHO I WORK WITH

A small number of
the right clients.

I work best with people managing significant complexity, where expectations are high, discretion matters, and a generic approach won't do.

That tends to mean:

  • Private estates and landowners navigating change, growth, or day-to-day operational demands

  • UHNW families and family offices requiring discreet, multi-faceted support across homes and staff teams

  • Founders and senior leaders who need a trusted operational partner, not just an assistant

  • Rural and hospitality businesses at various stages of development or diversification

If this sounds like
what you need, let's talk.

Every engagement starts with a conversation. No pressure, no pitch, just an honest, confidential discussion about your situation.
